The brief for this project was to create a homogenous  open plan living area on the lower ground floor 
 
A central utility and storage area articulates the space by creating a snug library space between the front and 
back rooms 
 
The kitchen space is bathed with light by the use of traditional crittal windows. A minimal screen separates  the garden from the internal space creating a beautifully calm environment  
 
A simple palette of natural materials blends this  contemporary extension with the period property
